I know how difficult it can be to find a reliable teacher that focuses on what you need. Instructors need to be able to motivate and guide students towards success. As an experienced and passionate instructor, I believe in an approach that gives students positive, constructive ways to learn. I design my lessons according to my students’ needs, with an emphasis on confidence-boosting activities.

Pro Bound

Asst. Instructor
My name is Charity Wielander, and I am from Marathon in the Florida Keys. I moved to Pensacola in 2019 and finished my nursing degree at UWF in August 2020. Although I wanted to become involved in martial arts for some time, I found it intimidating to start as an adult with no martial arts background. One of my friends introduced me to Sensei Wilkerson, who assured me he could teach anyone. I joined WBBLA as soon as I graduated; true to his word, Sensei (and the other instructors) spent many hours patiently training me with a focus in jiu jitsu. I am currently the jiu jitsu instructor, and I am also training in muay thai. I have become addicted to this system because it forces you to focus all your energy into every training session, and you leave feeling like you can fight the problems in other areas of your life.

Asst. Instructor

Capoeira My name is Elaijuah Staten and I am from Chipley, FL. I moved to Pensacola in May of 2019 to finish out my bachelors degree program and to put myself in a new/different environment. I am now a  last-semester senior at the University of West Florida and I am majoring in Business Management. I started training at Academy Kimura WBBLA around March of 2020. Due to the pandemic making my college classes 100% online, I had nothing but time on my hands.  I had always been into fitness, considering the fact, I grew up playing basketball and football from the time I was 6 years old until I graduated high school. I also got into weightlifting right after I graduated high school. So I truly was looking for a new form of working out when I first joined Academy Kimura due to the gyms being closed. But, a few months passed and it turned into more than just a workout. Being a part of this dojo has helped me gain a lot of confidence and discipline in myself from all aspects of life. Academy Kimura has helped me grow a lot, mentally and physically as well. From learning different forms and techniques, traditional facts/information, and helping me build on my personal skills. As time goes on, the discipline and control I’ve come to possess inside of the dojo has started to carry outside of the dojo as well. Truly, this place has been a blessing for me.

Asst. Instructor

My name is Seth Hayes, I am an instructor and fighter at Wilkerson’s Black Belt Leadership Academy under Master Wilkerson. I have been training at WBBLA for almost a year now and it has been one of the best decisions of my life. If you’re looking for a friendly and safe environment to train efficient and effective martial arts, you’ve come to the right place.
Upon joining WBBLA both my physical and mental health are at an all time high, I’ve learned a lot about myself during my time here and have made some amazing friends; but the most important things that I’ve learned during my time here is self discipline and confidence.
Among the various styles that we teach and train in at WBBLA, Muay Thai (also known as Thai Boxing and The Art of Eight Limbs) would have to be my favorite; followed by Boxing and Jiu Jitsu. I love seeing my students excel through repetition and seeing them flourish into their truest selves; it is a great honor to spread the teachings of Master Wilkerson to my community.I will be better and greater..

Jay Mitchell

My name is Jay “Arashi Hakai” Mitchell. I am a Mixed Martial Artist and instructor at Wilkerson’s Black Belt Leadership Academy, where commitment, sacrifice, and humility are a way of life. One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned from Master Wilkerson’s teaching is how to perceive beyond what I can see, and how to feel beyond what is readily at my touch. Whether using that lesson to flow roll in Jui-Jutsu, set up my next strike combination in a sparring match, or even manifest a more apt, more confident version of myself, these lessons have taken me on a completely unexpected, but immensely thrilling journey of self-awareness and self-improvement.
